* J-Startup was launched in June 2018 to create globally active start-ups. Based on the recommendations of external experts, such as venture capitalists with a proven track record and people in charge of new businesses at large companies, companies with potential are selected and given intensive support by government agencies and private J-Startup Supporters. The programme provides intensive support by government agencies and private ‘J-Startup Supporters’.

The Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI), the Japan External Trade Organisation (JETRO) and the New Energy and Industrial Technology Development Organisation (NEDO) act as secretariat for the programme. ( https://www.j-startup.go.jp/en/ )
